Designated by the Alzheimer’s Association as a Leader in Dementia Care, AltaVita Memory Care Centre is a locally-owned and family-oriented assisted living memory care community in Longmont.  Our community is a state of the art assisted living community in Northern Colorado, located conveniently north of the Boulder-Denver area. We provide high quality assisted living apartment suites in a secure and warm environment for individuals who need special care due to memory-related illnesses such as Alzheimer’s and dementia. Our approach is comprehensive, careful and kind as we honor each individual who lives with us.

Founders

Macy Development and the Nekoorad-Long Group together were inspired to create the AltaVita Memory Care Centre. Macy Development, a family-owned company in Longmont, was formed when Donald Macy began developing his family’s 120-acre property in Longmont in 1972. Macy partnered with Dr. Haleh Nekoorad-Long of the Nekoorad Long-Group to develop their shared vision for the AltaVita Memory Care Centre. Dr. Nekoorad-Long has operated the Longmont-based Colorado Mood and Memory Clinic since 2003, and she is respected for her knowledge of geriatric care. She has moved this private practice to AltaVita Memory Care Centre, where she oversees care plans for residents in the community. Dr. Nekoorad-Long is one of only a few geriatric psychiatrists in Colorado and primarily works with aging adults and issues regarding dementia, depression, and bipolar disorder.

Eventually, the AltaVita Memory Care Centre location will expand to form a full continuing care retirement community with all levels of senior living, from apartments and independent living to assisted living and skilled nursing care.
