Where is AltaVita Memory Care located?
AltaVita Memory Care Center is located at 800 South Fordham Street in Longmont across from the Red Barn Park (Willow Farm Park). Our campus is located on a quiet plot of land located on the western edge of the St. Vrain Centre, which is located at Hover and the Diagonal Highway.
Who is your medical director?
Dr. Haleh Nekoorad-Long, M.D., one of the few certified geriatric psychiatrists in Colorado, is our medical director. She will oversee resident care plans and maintain her practice within the community.
What types of amenities does your community offer?
We offer a holistic approach to our residents needs, and we offer excellent nutritional and dining options, health and wellness programs and services, and therapeutic massages. We also offer housekeeping, transportation, an onsite barber/salon, exercise and water therapy, and community room. We even have a guest suite for visits.
Can you tell us what type of apartments are available?
The community includes 56 private assisted living suites, with access to all common amenities and shared spaces. Rooms are spacious, heightened by 11-foot ceilings and large windows overlooking the courtyard. Rooms have individual thermostats, are carpeted for sound and comfort, and include a beautiful armoire that allows rooms to be configured as resident’s desire.
Are couples welcome at AltaVita Memory Care Centre?
We do welcome couples to our community. We also offer two-bedroom suites for couples that may wish to remain together in their own room with a more spacious arrangement.
What makes your community different than other memory care facilities?
For starters, our medical director is a highly trained and regarded in memory care, and brings a wealth of experience in memory care issues. Dr. Haleh Nekoorad-Long, M.D., will maintain her practice on our campus, and she will oversee all resident care plans. Second, our community was designed and built by experts in health care and senior living. This will be a purpose-built community, intended for memory care. Third, we are a family owned/operated business with the intention of providing the highest level of care and quality for the Longmont Community.

Can you tell us more about the “secure” features of your community?
Our community is designed to feel open and unrestricted for residents. At the same time, our responsibility is to ensure the safety of residents, some of whom may wander without security features. Our community is designed with subtle yet carefully considered features including keypad access, card-reader access, closed circuit television, restricted entrance into and out of the facility, and 24-hour surveillance. In addition, rooms are equipped with a combination of bed sensors, motion detectors, and call buttons, so that we can closely monitor the safety of our residents.
What kind of training does staff receive?
All staff is required to undergo training in various aspects of memory care before being allowed contact with our residents. After the initial training is complete, we require ongoing weekly/monthly/annual training and workshops for all of our staff, from our directors to our cooks. When you schedule a visit of our community, be sure to ask your guide more about the specific training that we provide to our staff.
What is the cost of an apartment in your community?
Apartments will vary in size, and level of services will vary based on the needs of residents. Costs are directly related to these factors. Please visit us so that we can learn more about your family’s needs and explain costs.
Can you tell me more about your adult day program and how much does it cost?
Our adult day care program provides all of the services, amenities, and use of shared spaces that our permanent guest experience on a daily basis. It is a great chance for the caregiver to run errands, or take a much needed break. The base cost is $XXX, which includes all meals and activities. Some services, such as water therapy or the salon may be extra. Call us to discuss the details and arrange an appointment. Drop-ins are welcome as room allows, however, we suggest that you call in advance so that we can adequately prepare a space for your loved one.
